So our wedding is fast approaching, and we can hardly wait for the big day to arrive! We wanted to share our lives with you so what better way then a blog. Here you can find how the planning is coming along, and how our first year in Dallas is going. I cannot believe we have been here almost eight months.
So just to get everyone caught up so far. We survived our first summer in Dallas, and it is thankfully starting to cool down...a little. Our jobs keep us busy, but we have been able to squeeze in a little site seeing. Though it mostly comes while in the car sweating on our way to find all of our old favorite food joints from Houston.
So a little bit about us!
We met at a small junior college in east Texas, Lon Morris College. It was a great campus and I while I hated it at first, I was sad when my second year came to an end. It was during that second year that I met Freddy. I was leaving the dorm with one of my friends from the dance team, when I saw him in the lobby. I knew at that moment, he was the one I wanted to marry. It was instant, and definitive. But there was one problem. He was dating my roommate. Now I generally have a rule against this, I am not the steal your boyfriend type. As the first semester drew to a close, my roommate and I were having problems. She was dating a new guy (the 6th in 3 months), and I was getting busy with basketball season. By Spring Break, we were no longer talking. In fact, she dropped out of school.
Now up until this point, Freddy and I weren't really talking to each other. Roomy and he had a nasty breakup, and I was supporting the Roomy. But now she wasn't in the picture and I thought we could continue our friendship. He was dating his high school ex, and I was just looking for friendship for now anyways. But by April, he had broken up with the ex again, and two weeks later he asked me out.
Now don't get me wrong there were some ups and downs, but on July 25, 2009 he proposed. We didn't start planning right away, we were not where we wanted to be career wise. I was still part time at Macy's, and he was at AutoZone. Not to mention we were living with my parents, and I had succumbed to the awful job market. I graduated with out a job and was running out of places to apply. I went on a few job interviews the next year, with lots of promise but no follow through. Then I got the call I had been waiting for, one of the jobs I interviewed for in March wanted to know if I was still interested. OF COURSE I was still interested. By February, we were moving to Dallas and starting our lives as a couple away from our families.
Since moving to Dallas, things have been great. We are more than ready to begin our lives together as husband and wife. Hopefully soon adding the family to the mix. We are so excited to be starting this journey, and cannot wait to share it with you.
